MP Travel was created in December 2016 by partners Garreth and Louis McAllister-Partridge, based in Culcheth, Warrington.
Due to Garreth's enthusiasm for buses, he has several years experience in the passenger transport industry, especially knowledge of private hire, rail replacement and public services. This is where he decided along with his partner, to start their own company.
The company was setup using just one double deck old vehicle. This started the company off operating rail replacement for Stagecoach South West Trains.

Once the company had been trading a couple of months, the decision was taken to purchase its first low floor double decker and also its first coach. This being a Volvo B7TL Plaxton President former London vehicle via Ensignbus and a Volvo B12B 9700 from Group Travel Limted.
Due to the livery on the old decker that MP Travel was using, and Garreth's connection with East Yorkshire vehicles, due to growing up in Hull. It was decided that this would be their main livery for all service vehicles.
Until April 2017, the company was ran as a one driver operation with the odd help from friends to drive on a casual basis. We took on our first employee, a former Stagecoach supervisor, who is still with the company at present.
Later in 2017, Garreth had been doing some work for a previous employer, and friend, Ian Howard, to which an agreement was made to share the Howards Travel depot in Moore Village, Warrington. This is where they are based currently.
Over the time the company has been trading, the main aspect of work carried out was rail replacement, especially for Northern Railway. However, it was not just local rail work, the company would travel all over the UK for work.
Due to a relationship with the Megabus network, over time, MP would run dupes, cover for Megabus breakdowns and even loan them vehicles to operate to allow their operation to run. In May 2019, the company was awarded a contract to operate a service from Manchester to London (M11A) every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Part of the contract, was a requirement for a DDA (Wheelchair friendly) coach. Two coaches was sourced, one being a 2010 Mercedes Caetano from Stantons of Stoke, along with a 2011 Scania Plaxton, purchased from Ensignbus. The Mercedes is currently in full Megabus branding.

Interesting fact of the vehicles, they all have been given names after members of Garreth & Louis' family. Mainly their niece and nephews, However in January 2019 their first brand new vehicle arrived, a ADL Enviro 200 MMC. This was named Marjorie, after Garreth's Grandma.
